About Us

Avenues and Alleys founder Brett LeveridgeAt Avenues and Alleys, we ask: Have you ever enjoyed the rare pleasure of experiencing one of the world’s great cities in the company of a friend who resides there, a friend who is eager to share his passion for that great city with you?

Sure, you’ll visit the landmarks, the tourist attractions, the familiar sites you’ve seen in movies and on TV, but in the company of this friend, you experience so much more. He points out a men’s hat store that’s been in business since the 1930s, a lunch counter that first opened its doors in 1929 (and looks it), the spot where the Statue of Liberty’s torch stood in the 1870s, giving New Yorkers a preview of the immense gift that was soon headed their way.

He talks to you about where his city has been and where it’s going, gives you a sense of what it’s like to live there, not just visit, almost has you convinced that you should pack up—lock, stock, and barrel—and move there yourself. Sell the house, quit your job, and start over, maybe finish that novel you started years ago, become a painter, a real estate mogul, a cab driver.

That’s the experience we’re aiming for every time we take one of our private tours out into the city streets. We love this town, and we want you to love it, too. Our licensed tour guides take a conversational approach—we’re not lecturers. We’ll learn about you, you’ll learn about us, and we’ll experience New York, the greatest city in the world, together.

We’re Avenues and Alleys, and we can’t wait to show you the town.
